CAT: Stereotypes in mean girls

Part 1

Video 1

Cady when describing what homeschool kids are like she says that Homeschooled kids are freaks, and that kids are either really dumb, or weirdly smart. Like when the 5 kids are saying that, ‘On the third day, God created the Remington bolt action rifle. So that man could fight the dinosaurs, and the homosexuals.’
The kids are wearing old style and rugged clothes as if they work on a ranch or are wrapped in cotton wool all day long by their parents when they get home from an event. If a homeschooled kid is somewhat a nerd in a way, they wear on colored clothing like red or blue, with glasses and a dumb haircut and accent, to make them seem quite annoying in a way.

If they are in some place in a forest or farm or anywhere remote, they would have a heavy southerly Texas accent and have clothes like patterned shirts and messy haircuts with overalls to seem they actually work at some farm with rifles and shooting ranges with targets to aim and shoot, and are not that smart and are disconnected with the outside word.

Camels 1:

Camera – In the first shot showing Cady at school multiple views is used like over the shoulder, a mix of the first view but zoomed, first person when walking through the chaos and a mix of a few at the same time.

Acting – You can see Cady walking through the crowd stopping and bumping into people as well as looking around with caution and confusion, looking around being careful with her surroundings. As Cady enters the classroom and talks to someone she thought was the teacher but she wasn’t and acts in a bit of disbelief.

Mise-en-scene – Her hair is tied back with the path heading right through the crowd and into the school with trees and benches outside. Teachers desk with a chalkboard behind that and desks for individual students to show the average high school students day and what classrooms are usually like in the US high schools.

Lighting – The classroom is nicely lit up to have a comfortable background from a window since you can see the shadow on the wall from behind her. When Cady is outside you can see the environment outside is lit up presumably from the sun shining down.

Sound – Firstly the Bus comes by with a loud sound and Cady’s Mum screams a little kind of showing her mum has never seen something like that before. Soon after the music plays and shows the chaos of the school

Camels 2:

Camera – High angle shots from what appears to be from the other girls view looking down on her making it look seem as if she was trying to expose her and Cady’s trying to defend herself. Then from Cady’s view down lower than the other girl in the car.

Acting – Cady is acting is disbelief and shock when trying to defend herself against the truth that Janice is explaining to her and showing her. Janice is yelling at Cady and mocking Cady with exaggerated expressions of her of being a plastic girl trying to make it seem she is a real plastic.

Mise-en-scene – Cady is wearing a dress that has mostly black as if she’s gone to a dark side like star wars, but has a pink stripe to show that she’s still a plastic girl. Cady is also randomly has a yellow towel as if she has a white flag in an attempt to peace things out.

Editing – There isn’t much obvious editing here but some of the only editing choices is between the character scripts after one character talks the camera cuts to the other character. After the whole ordeal the sound of African tribal music fades into audio even though there is no-one playing music in the film.

Lightings – The lighting in this scene if appearing from the surrounding street lights lighting up the characters to show them better in the dark and the lights from the car headlights.

Sound – The sound of the picture being thrown and hit at Cady shows it made contact with her and then the sound of the car driving off as well.

Part 2

Varsity Jocks:

Camera – The camera when coming past slowing pans across showing the different Jock characters and the activities they are up too and what there character is like at first.

Acting – In the Cocks first appearance two of them appears to be hustling across the lunch table while the other 4 are watching over. Another Scene is when Jason is in an area with two friends, watching the madness unfold and acting all excited.

Mise-en-scene – The Cafeteria scene shows the jocks in rows of 3 with food on the table like burgers and sandwiches showing what they usually eat for lunch, the average tasty meal. But the clothes they were wearing showed that they are all sport fans and that they are quite popular people around the school

Editing – The camera in the cafeteria scene zooms past and the editing makes the camera blur and seem to teleport making a slight chaotic scene. But in the school jungle madness scene the camera cuts to from the girls fighting on the floor to the jocks ganging them on to do something.

Lighting – Bright lighting is being shown onto the Jock characters to show their brighter personality and to show that they are not bad people but people to have fun around. For example the scene where all of the girls start fighting and his face is being shown onto brightly.
Sounds – Jason may sound with high pitched voice when excited. Pne of the jocks starts making animal sounds in the background when Cady jumps the plastic girl in her imagination.

Jason – What makes him a Jock Character
Jason acts like a jock character because of many factors, like clothing, some uncomfortable behaviors with a hint of some sexual harassment while talking to women in hope that they’ll like him. When in the cafeteria you can see him wearing some Football jackets for the school teams, which is a common thing to have in high school movies or shows. Shane is also quite hyper in dramatic situations like the girls fighting on the ground, which is when he shows his weird side which is actually quite sigma like when Andrew Tate said women can’t fight for the army and that they should have restricted rights, which is also quite a big wrong doing since Jason is a little woke in the head at times.
